What will you do?

As Business Unit Director Machine Development & Engineering, you lead the machine-building activities of NiniX Technologies. The role is a planned succession for Geert Haeve, who will retire in the course of 2027. A structured transition period ensures continuity of knowledge, customer relationships and strategic leadership.

  • Securing a continuous and sustainable flow of projects by identifying and developing opportunities with existing and new customers
  • Leading the commercial process from first customer contact through concept development, cost calculation and quotation
  • Working closely with the engineering team to deliver machine solutions that are technically robust and commercially sound
  • Challenging customer requirements, assessing technical feasibility and translating complex needs into innovative, competitive machine concepts
  • Taking end-to-end responsibility, as a member of the management team, for the performance of the prototype machine-building activities
  • Holding full P&L responsibility, including cost calculations, budgets, margins and commercial targets
  • Helping to define the company's strategic direction
  • Building and maintaining long-term strategic relationships with key customers
  • Leading three senior professionals directly and overseeing an engineering department of around ten people
  • Reporting to the Managing Director

What do you bring?

  • At least 10 to 15 years of experience in machine building and a good understanding of the complexity of the sector
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering processes and a strategic eye for new opportunities and market developments
  • Solid experience with cost calculations, budgeting, margin management, price negotiations and P&L responsibility in a project-driven machine-building environment
  • Strong commercial insight and the ability to read people and situations accurately
  • Natural leadership: you motivate a team and bring it together around a common goal
  • Strong analytical and communication skills to translate and solve complex technical challenges
  • The ability to discuss machine concepts, system architectures and design trade-offs at a conceptual level, without taking over detailed engineering tasks

What can you expect?

A senior, autonomous role with real impact on the commercial and strategic direction of a growing company, with a structured handover from your predecessor. You can count on:

  • A permanent contract
  • An attractive gross salary and fringe benefits
  • A company car
  • A project-based, challenging job with training opportunities
  • Colleagues who share your passion for technology

In addition, you have the freedom to manage your own schedule. We count on you to take responsibility, and that helps us grow the company together.

About NiniX Technologies

NiniX Technologies is a hands-on technology company in Bruges and part of ACE Belgium and the Brandfort group. We work for sectors with extreme environments, including automotive, maritime and agriculture. Our two core activities are precision engineering, from detailed design and construction to testing and delivery of industrial machinery and automation projects, and electronics product development, from design and validation to the production of electronics and enclosures for demanding environments.

With a team of around 25 colleagues, communication lines are short and engineering and production work under one roof. We value an enthusiastic way of working together and look for people who truly fit our team.
